-Music Videos on my Mind- Haiku Salut’s “Hearts Not Parts”

Multi-instrumentalists Gemma Barkerwood, Sophie Barkerwood and Louise Croft never speak onstage, referring to themselves as "three mute girls". They go by the band name of Haiku Salut, a trio that are expert players of accordions, pianos, glockenspiels and ukuleles, all to create a soundscape that the girls refer to as “Baroque-Pop-Folktronic-Neo-Classical-Something-Or-Other.” So essentially this means they’re more than just an orchard trio you’d book for a mediocre wedding reception.
Haiku Salut’s sound is stunningly cinematic, and one assumes that that is where their music may be best used. The group hails from the pastoral wonderlands of the Derbyshire Dales, but the sonic landscapes conjured when listening to Hearts Not Parts suggests something altogether otherworldly.
